Do you have a home bar? Have you ever cleaned out your beer taps? Experts recommend that you clean your beer taps regularly using beer line cleaner to rinse out all the beer residue and all the yeast and other remnants that get left behind. If that debris isn’t cleaned out of your beer lines eventually it will build up and it will start to affect the taste of the beer that comes out of the taps and clog up the beer lines. No one wants to serve beer that tastes bad to friends and family or drink it themselves so make a schedule of cleaning days and keep some beer line cleaner on hand in case you need to clean your taps between scheduled cleanings. But having bad tasting beer or clogged hoses aren’t the only problems that could develop from dirty taps and hoses. Bacteria and dirt that builds up in the hoses and taps can get into the beer if the hoses, taps, and faucets aren’t cleaned and sanitized. Not quite sure what to use to clean your beer taps? There are lots of bar supply stores that sell beer line cleaner kits that have everything you need to make sure that your beer lines and taps are clean and won’t clog up. Using a kit is a good idea because when you buy a kit you’ll receive a sanitizer as well as cleaning solution and a special pump designed to help clear the hose and faucets.
A lot of people don’t think about cleaning out their home bars on a regular basis but it’s very important to make sure that everything it thoroughly cleaned out. The taps, the faucets, the hoses, even the clamps and other hardware should be scrubbed regularly. When you clean out your beer taps using beer line cleaner you should disassemble the entire tap setup and clean each piece individually. That might seem like a lot of work, but obviously you enjoy good beer or you wouldn’t have a home bar, so if you want your beer to continue to taste as great as it would at your favorite local bar you need to methodically clean out your taps just like other bar owners do. Using beer line cleaner is easy so it won’t be a hard job to keep your home bar set up clean. And it won’t take up your whole weekend either. You can clean out your taps and beer lines on Saturday and the beer will be flowing again by Saturday night. You have invested the time and money in creating a home bar, now you need to invest the time and effort into keeping it clean and keeping everything running smoothly. Don’t use a substitute cleaner when you clean out your beer taps. Use only beer line cleaner that is specially formulated for cleaning taps. You might be tempted to use some cleaner that you already have lying around the house but in order to make sure that your beer lines stay safe and sanitary you should only use beer line cleaner.
