Remembering Tin Beer Signs

When you are in search for something you look for a sign. The same goes for beer, when you want to find a beer you look for beer signs. These old tin beer signs are not only old fashioned but they are also in demand. Collectors all around the world are constantly on the search of a unique tin beer sign that will add to their collection. Tin signs could be found in inns, bars and taverns. Restaurants that served beer would also display a tin beer sign so everyone would know that they could enjoy this nice cold beverage with their meal. Today these signs still hang in bars, inns, taverns and restaurants to display a time where everyone felt comfortable socializing and taking the time to enjoy life.

Tin beer signs have been around for years. They originally started as a form of advertising. The signs would grab attention and display a certain brand of beer. At the time that tin beer signs were popular this type of marketing was very successful. People soon started to recognize the signs and instantly know what brand that establishment served. Those who prefer to drink beer have their particular brand that they prefer over any other, just like soda drinkers have their favorites as well.

Today tin beer signs are not only still popular but a lot of restaurants, inns, bars, and other establishments that serve beer use the signs as part of their décor. They give the customers something to talk about as well as advertise what brand of beer is sold. Every brand of beer had their own logo and design on the tin beer signs and each one made a statement.

The tin beer signs may have featured the name of the beer, whether it was available in bottles or cans, and how much it costs. It may have just pictured the drink itself so you would know how good that beer looked in a glass. For beer companies like Budweiser they had a team of Clydesdale horses as part of their advertisement. The Clydesdale horses would be featured on some of the signs without any special words. Another feature that made people recognize tin beer signs was the color. For example, Budweiser’s color was and still is red and white. Coors Light’s colors are silver and regular Coors is gold.

The classic tin beer signs were usually always displayed inside and rarely outside. Today that is why so many are still in good condition and able to be sold for a fairly high price to a collector. If you are not currently a collector you may want to take up this type of hobby, especially if you have your own pool room in your home. These signs can be custom made to order today if you don’t want to start your own collection. Purchasing tin beer signs online are inexpensive and easy to find, unlike the older antique signs.

Today, you can look at the tin beer signs and still remember when a beer was only 15 cents. You can sit back and remember the good ole’ days when life seemed difficult and complicated but compared to today it wasn’t so bad.
